How Scan Files Pro processes information, protects local documents, and works with service providers
EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to the Scan Files Pro app and its related website. “Scan Files Pro,” “we,” and “us” refer to the developers who publish Scan Files Pro through the Apple App Store.
For questions about this Privacy Policy, contact us at [email protected].
We process only the information needed to provide, maintain, and improve the document features available in Scan Files Pro.
Depending on the features you use, Scan Files Pro may process:
· PDF files and other supported documents that you open or import
· Photos selected from your photo library
· Images of paper documents captured with your camera
· Annotations, highlights, drawings, comments, or other edits you add
· Documents or selected content that you choose to submit for summaries or other online processing
Documents opened, scanned, edited, or saved locally normally remain on your device unless you choose to share them or use a feature that requires online processing.
We or our service providers may process limited technical information, including:
· Device type
· Operating system version
· Application version
· Crash reports and diagnostic information
· App installation or device identifiers
· Advertising identifiers where permitted by your device settings and applicable law
Camera: Allows you to scan paper documents, receipts, forms, notes, and other materials. Scanning with the camera cannot be used when camera access is disabled.
Photos: Allows you to select images for scanning, conversion, or PDF creation and to save supported results to your photo library.
Files: Allows you to select, open, import, export, and save supported documents through the iOS file system.
Scan Files Pro requests permissions only when they are needed for a related feature. Disabling a permission may prevent that feature from working but will not affect unrelated features.
Information processed through Scan Files Pro may be used to:
· Open and display supported documents
· Scan paper documents and save them as PDF files
· Support annotations, editing, conversion, merging, splitting, and other document tools
· Generate document summaries when you choose to use an online summary feature
· Maintain application stability and diagnose technical problems
· Protect the security and reliability of the app and related services
· Measure app usage and advertising effectiveness
We do not automatically upload every document stored on your device. A document may be transmitted only when you select a feature that requires online processing or when you intentionally share or export it.
Files created, imported, scanned, or edited in Scan Files Pro may be stored locally on your device. Local documents remain available until you delete them, remove the app, or clear its stored data.
Where supported, local documents are protected using iOS security and file-protection features. You are responsible for controlling access to your device and reviewing documents before sharing them.
Certain features, such as document summaries or other supported online tools, may require selected content to be transmitted to a service provider.
These transmissions use encrypted HTTPS connections. Service providers may temporarily process or retain submitted content as required to provide the selected feature, maintain security, meet legal obligations, or follow their own service terms.
Scan Files Pro does not control a service provider’s independent retention practices. Do not submit confidential, regulated, or highly sensitive documents to an online feature unless you are authorized to do so and accept the provider’s processing practices.
Crash reports, diagnostic information, and related technical data may be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to maintain the app, investigate technical issues, protect the service, or meet applicable legal requirements.
No storage or transmission method can guarantee complete security. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the type of information being processed.
Scan Files Pro may work with third-party providers that support functions such as:
· Document processing and summaries
· Analytics and crash reporting
· Advertising delivery and measurement
· Technical infrastructure and security
These providers may process limited information only as needed to perform their services. Their handling of information is also governed by their own privacy policies and contractual obligations.
We do not sell your personal documents for monetary compensation. Advertising providers may process device or advertising information as permitted by applicable law and your iOS tracking choices.
Scan Files Pro is a general document utility and is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information through an online feature, contact us so that we can review the request and take appropriate action.
Do not submit medical records, financial documents, government identification, confidential business files, or other highly sensitive content to an online feature unless you have permission and understand how the selected provider processes that content.
You control the permissions granted to Scan Files Pro. Camera, photo, file, and other supported permissions can be reviewed through your device’s system settings.
Removing a permission may make the related feature unavailable, but other features can continue to operate where technically possible.
Where applicable, Scan Files Pro will request permission before accessing information used to track activity across other companies’ apps or websites.
Disabling tracking permission may limit personalized advertising. It does not necessarily remove all advertisements from the app.
You can review and delete locally stored documents using the tools provided in Scan Files Pro or through supported iOS file-management options.
Deleting a local file does not automatically delete a copy that you previously exported, shared, or submitted to an external service.
